Social Housing in Expensive Neighbourhoods

America's most expensive neighbourhoods for Real Estate. Would it not be better for the city to sell this expensive land to a developer... then take that money and build 3 times as many units in an area like Surrey?

Buying The Lifestyle - Downtown Vancouver Condos

As I have been blogging about the last 4 months we are seeing a divergence in prices between condos and detached homes right now in the Greater Vancouver area. Downtown Vancouver condos, especially units priced under 1 million, continue to be at or near record setting prices, while detached homes are well off their highs from Spring 2016. I’m starting to see many younger and middle aged buyers moving away from the dream of owning a detached home in the suburbs and instead buying a condo in the downtown core and being more attracted to the lifestyle as opposed to the space and sq footage of a detached home. It will be interesting to see how this trend plays out over the next 5 to 10 years.
