Luxury Social Housing in Coal Harbour??

Last week I tweeted a link to an article discussing the City of Vancouver's approval of a new waterfront social housing development in Coal Harbour. I questioned would it not be a better approach for the City to sell this extremely valuable parcel of waterfront land, take the money and build far more units in a less expensive area of the city? I also discuss the advantages of low cost do it yourself index investing vs paying high fee and commissions management.

I have never seen a year where so many people got it wrong in predicting a market crash in both the Vancouver Real Estate as well as the stock market. It proves that short term market predictions are a muggs game. Even when the odds are 90% in your favour you can still get it dead wrong. Instead just focus on the long term fundamentals 20-30-40 years of buying, holding and enjoying the home. This will always result in a positive return.
