Hard to believe how stupid some of our politicians can be sometimes. Recently the mayor of Vancouver floated the idea of adding yet another layer of taxation to the purchase and sale of Real Estate in the Province. People need to realize that we are already one of the most taxed real estate markets in the world. Adding another tax is not going to curb prices or speculation, which by the way, there is very little of in this market. In my opinion it will have the opposite effect and actually cause prices to increase.
